Included and separately quoted

Base machine

  • Stations named on the quotation (fill, place, crimp, gasser) with the work envelope and connected load stated for those stations only.
  • Standard crimp tooling matched to the can-neck and valve drawings attached to the RFQ, plus PLC interface notes for start/stop and reject signals.

Replacement versus new installation

Many aerosol projects replace one station while keeping conveyors, cappers or pack-off. Others specify a new cell. The quotation must say which path is being priced, because footprint, utilities and operator access change the installed project cost even when the machine price looks similar.

Existing process

If a gasser or crimper already sits on the line, record its height, infeed direction and residual leak-test method. A replacement filler that cannot accept the current valve bowl or can-neck tooling will force extra changeover time that a nameplate throughput figure will not show.

Ask each bidder whether the offer is a drop-in station or a new cell with its own infeed, accumulation and reject path.

Duty and operating envelope for aerosol filling

Material entering the machine
Feedstock is the concentrate or BOV liquid at filling temperature, plus the propellant route. Viscosity, solids and flammability class belong on the RFQ so bidders do not quote a water trial as if it were the commercial formula.
Required output
Throughput should be stated as containers per minute with the named can, valve and product. Cycle time from a demonstration on empty cans is a different number and should be labelled as such.
Duty cycle
Campaign length, overnight idle, and how many formats share the same crimp heads during a week. Duty cycle drives spare parts and whether a second set of changeover tooling is a machine-line or a separate purchase.

Which procurement scope is covered by an aerosol filling machine?

Which can-neck and valve drawings define the supplied crimp tooling?
  1. Representative sample

Send production-intent cans, valves and a controlled amount of product or a named surrogate. Empty-can dry cycling does not qualify crimp diameter or leak rate for the commercial pack.

  2. Demonstration

Witness fill, place, crimp and, if quoted, gassing. Record working pressure, fill weight and crimp dimensions against the drawings attached to the RFQ.

  3. Acceptance record

FAT/SAT should name the product, packaging components, inspection method and pass/fail for leak and crimp. A containers-per-minute figure alone cannot close the trial.

Which responsibilities remain with the equipment supplier and buyer?

The buyer supplies drawings, samples, utilities data and destination. The sourcing desk aligns comparable quotation lines. The selected machine supplier confirms feasibility, tooling match and the operations actually included. Engineering acceptance stays with the purchase contract, not with this website.
